We received a call the day after the match meeting took place and we were told were not picked for the little girl from Texas. I was dissapointed, but at the same time I know its for the best.
So, now we are waiting to hear about our two kids from FL. They are waiting on a home study to be completed on the grandmother of the kids....
Which leads me to this...a 'blogger friend' of mine was recently denied by DHS to adopt...I don't know the details, but from what I can gather from what I know of her and have read on her blog, she seems like a very genuine, sweet and trustworthy person. I don't know anything about the grandmother of these kids in FL either, but I think its probably safe to assume that, whatever parenting skills the kids mom had, she learned them from her own mother...so, if this grandmother is approved to adopt these kids, why isn't my blogger friend? What is wrong with this system? I just want to scream! Not only is it taking FOREVER, people who want children more than anything in this world are told they can't adopt for some ridiculious reason, while parents who have abused and abandoned their children multiple times are given chance after chance to do right. I guess I always thought this entire process was for the benefit of the children, but I guess I might be wrong...

I'm sorry to hear that you weren't picked for the little girl in Texas. I admire your positivity though regarding their decision, but my heart goes out to you because I still understand the rejection you feel. I always hope that what's best for the child(ren) is done, but I also know that good people like you would be good for any child so I hope that you hear good news about the kids from FL.
And I agree... "I guess I always thought this entire process was for the benefit of the children, but I guess I might be wrong... "
Email me and I'll explain what happened. I left my email on my blog if you don't have it.
